Work is underway on the demolition of old portions of the Cedar Grove Community School, allowing for the renovation of Cedar Grove Elementary School. This is a School Building Authority (SBA) / KCS - funded project.

Students were welcomed into the new 2nd floor classrooms coming back Monday from Thanksgiving break! The new space is beautiful and students/staff are thrilled.
10-20-23
New rooftop equipment has been set. Electrical contractors are working to make final pulls to the 2nd floor. Controls contractors are working to complete 2nd floor programming. Planning is underway to move 2nd-5th graders in in about a month!
9-21-23
The second floor is 96% complete. Ceiling work is continuing in the 2nd floor main corridor. Casework, walls, and furniture have been assembled and installed. Work is continuing on the first floor and is in phase 2.

The school opened to students on Friday, Aug. 18th with ongoing construction.
Progress is being made daily. A temporary playground was installed and fenced in. All temporary classrooms are in place. They are laying flooring on the 2nd floor.

Second floor demolition is complete. Second floor masonry entryways and divider stud walls are being installed. Second floor HVAC and electrical rough-in are complete. First floor demo is underway. Project is on schedule.

Asbestos abatement has been completed on the gym. Demolition of the gym has resumed. Hydronic piping is being installed on the 2nd floor.

The pod and theater demolition is complete. Demo is underway on the gymnasium. HVAC, electrical, and masonry demo/install is ongoing.

The Pod which housed the PreK-2nd Grades is completely down and the area has been seeded. The contractor has begun on the second floor of the building.

The demolition contractor will start demolition of the gym in approximately two weeks. The General Contractor has begun minor demolition of the second floor and is constructing temporary partitions.
