John Adams Middle School’s Charvitha Sanjaya Wins Regional Spelling Bee!

We’ve got some exciting news to share! Charvitha Sanjaya, an eighth grader at John Adams Middle School, has won the 2025 Charleston Gazette-Mail Regional Spelling Bee!

 

 

Strong Performance

Charvitha was nearly perfect in this year’s online competition, scoring an impressive 48 out of 50—the highest overall score. With this big win, she’s now headed to the Scripps National Spelling Bee to represent West Virginia later this year!

A huge congratulations to every student who participated in this year’s event—you all did an amazing job! And, of course, a big thank you to the teachers, principals, and central office staff who made the school and county spelling bees happen.
