Information for KCS Employees Regarding the COVID-19 Vaccine

For those who've already been vaccinated

Please look for an e-mail to your KCS email regarding details on your follow-up shot. This message may not arrive until the week of your scheduled follow-up.

For those who haven't been vaccinated

Kanawha County Schools has been informed that we will not host additional vaccine clinics for first round vaccines. The school system moves to second round vaccinations for the next several weeks.

Those who have not yet received their first vaccination are encouraged to pre-register at  Any West Virginian who does not have the ability to register online should call the COVID-19 Vaccine Info Line at 1-833-734-0965 to get help with pre-registration. The info line is active from Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Individuals can opt to receive regular communication updates on West Virginia’s vaccination process. The WV COVID-19 Vaccine Registration System allows people to select their preferences for communication through texts, email or voicemails over regular phone lines. The system offers West Virginians the ability to pre-register, receive real-time updates on vaccine availability and get notifications about available appointments to get vaccinated as supplies allow.

According to the state’s COVID-19 Vaccine Allocation Plan, school employees are categorized as essential workers and are prioritized as such.

School employees that completed a survey earlier this year regarding their interest in receiving a vaccination will not lose priority in the process. The registration system allows the state to move forward as quickly and efficiently as possible as vaccines are available.
