Dr. Tom Williams Named Educator of the Year

2024-2025 KCS Educator of the Year
Dr. Tom Williams has worked as an educator for 40 years. He was a special education classroom teacher, club sponsor, school counselor, assistant principal, high school principal, assistant superintendent, deputy superintendent and of course superintendent. What is great about him receiving the educator of the year award is that Dr. Williams has said many times, he has loved all of the positions he has held.

As our leader through Covid, school consolidations and closing or not closing schools on snow days, I can attest to the fact he made every decision for the student’s best interest at heart. In a world where someone can be criticized on social media for every decision he makes, he handled it all by focusing his decisions (many times not popular decisions) with what would benefit students that attend school now and for those students in the future. Dr. Williams has always focused on improving the academic growth for all students. He leads with vision, empathy, understanding, experience and dedication to KCS.
Of course, Dr. Williams is more than just the superintendent – he is married to Kim and has two children – Chris and Jamie and 3 beautiful grandchildren that he is so proud of. His interests include reading, exercising, spending time with his family and he especially loves to receive REGULAR weather updates.
We cannot think of anyone more deserving for Educator KCS.
