Nicole also has some advice for current students, “Slow down. Don’t rush into relationships, rush into college, don’t rush period. Take your time and enjoy your younger years and really THINK your future through.” She continued, “Good attendance is very important to student success because you can fall behind so easily. Once you fall behind it’s very hard to get back on track to where you left off.”

She finished by saying, “After high school I rushed into college because it felt like it was something necessary for my future. But going into college I had no clue what I really wanted to do and ended up spending a lot of years bouncing around to different college majors and not finishing any. Post-high school education is super important, but I think our younger generation needs to be aware of the different options out there and start really exploring and educating themselves on what they really want to invest their futures into. Especially to the children/young adults who don’t have the guidance they may need. As adults in the community, we need to be good examples and mentors to the youth. Also, to the young women, please slow down. It’s okay that you haven’t found the “love of your life yet”. Although love is amazing and having children is a blessing it does affect how your future plays out. It’s hard juggling school, a future, a life of your own and a child.”
