October at Ruthlawn Elementary
October has been a great month at Ruthlawn Elementary!
The whole school enjoyed a trip to Gritts Farm where they enjoyed tractor rides, a ropes course, slides, a corn maze and hay climbs. Students also go to see and pet several animals. PreK and Kindergarten enjoyed a visit from the South Charleston Fire Department to talk about Fire Safety Month. Fourth and fifth graders learned about Newton's Laws of Motion and conducting experiments with engineering and design. The lesson concluded with both an egg drop and a pumpkin drop. Pumpkins crashed down from 30 feet above the ground!
The Ruthlawn Friday Night Dance was held outdoors, much to the delight of students and parents. Students danced until dark while wearing their favorite costumes.
