Pre-admission

Applicants must be Kanawha County Schools students and have definable need demonstrated by discrepancy between ability (based on standardized assessments) and achievement (identified by grades, attendance, and behavior by the home school administrators and faculty).

The applicants' home school principal or assistant principal must support the student's enrollment before the student may be considered for placement.

To apply, applicants need to contact their high school counselor to generate their request for principal's approval and obtain a copy of:

  • current transcript
  • attendance history
  • discipline history
  • ACT or SAT scores

 

Admission

Upon the principal's approval candidates must call 304-766-4145 to schedule a time to submit the above documents for review, and take ACCU-Placer Test (College Placement test).

  • ENGLISH: 254

  • ENGLISH: 18

-SAT scores of

  • MATH: 450
  • ENGLISH: 450

Application remains pending until the placement test has been administered by the WVSU testing center and received by the Collaborative staff**.

Placement decision will be made based on the interpretation of ACU-Placer (or ACT) scores, transcripts, discipline issues, and attendance history.

We will not consider for admission students with a history of violent behavior and criminal convictions within the past two years prior to Collaborative Application as per agreement with WVSU.

 

**Test fee is responsibility of student/parent
