Kanawha City Elementary Community Partnerships

Throughout the year, the students and staff at Kanawha City Elementary have been partnering with several community organizations. Each month the school participates in a different community service project. Drives have included a canned food drive for Mountain Mission, a pet supply drive for the Kanawha Charleston Humane Association and a mitten tree. 

In addition to service projects, KCE partners with local organizations for school support. Mentors and music instructors are just two of the many ways the community is supporting the school. 

Partnerships also come from within the school. When KCE was closed for remote learning, teachers took time out of their day to deliver meals to students. They also invited students to participate in spirit days and the Charleston Christmas Parade!
