The Kanawha County Schools Pupil Transportation Department envisions people as the most valuable and important resource, and that the key to long-term success is maximizing this resource. We must continually share with employees and supporters the best new methods and information to help strengthen people. All employees will become active team players as a process of Continuous Improvement is developed through total employee involvement.
We envision a new management style that assures employee involvement and a definite "Team Effort". Top-down Team Management will focus all Transportation Employees on the mission and goals of the Department. As employees grow into Empowerment by their involvement in the decision-making process, they will be accountable for their decisions. Continuous Improvement will drive out complacency and challenge each person to accept change.
We envision a success-oriented Transportation Department guided by the Team Management concept directing a process of Continuous Improvement.
The mission of the Pupil Transportation Department is to establish and maintain a systematic program:
- For transporting children to and from school and school activities safely.
- For providing quality transportation services as economically and efficiently as possible.
- For developing a transportation environment which is consistent with and supportive of the general education environment.
- For directing a continuous improvement process with Team Management concepts of planning and problem solving.
