Starting Friday, June 3rd, 2016 the pedestrian bridge that crosses Coal River near Hayes Middle School will be barricaded on both ends. A project will be underway to paint all metal surfaces on the bridge. The painting will commence on June 6th. Due to safety concerns, it will not be possible to open bridge access during the course of the construction. The estimated time of completed is August 8th, 2016 depending on the weather.
The timeframe of the project was designed during the summer to limit the amount of students/teachers/parents being affected due to the amount of traffic the bridge sees. Those who are accustomed to using it to travel to and from school during the summer will need to make other arrangements.
Please check back often to get an update on the progress of the project.
