In 2010, Chesapeake Elementary, located in rural eastern Kanawha County, chose to begin their National Archery in the Schools Program. Chesapeake Elementary Archery has become one of the highest performing and recognized elementary programs in WV during these four years. Through NASP, school attendance is improved, student behavior is improved by reinforcing more focus and self-control, and students of all gender, size, and abilities are having success.

We have previously received donations to help support our program from Penn Virginia Resource Partners in Chesapeake and Somewhere In Time Antiques in Nitro, along with individual archer’s families. We have received equipment repair assistance from Saint Albans Gun and Archery and Bowlistic Archery. We could not make this program successful without help from others. Sponsorship donations are always welcomed and encouraged in order to help continue this successful program. Your support in any way or in any amount of money is noticeable and extremely appreciated by our school.
