Kanawha County 4-H provided Lego Robotics to Ms. Swanson’s resource room at Elkview Middle School for the months of November and December. The LEGO Wedo equipment allows students to build simple machines and then develop computer programming to automate the machines.

Sherry Swint, the 4-H Agent, indicates that there are more advance LEGO robotics called Mindstorms which middle school youth can build, program and compete at the local and state level. Robotic clubs support by parents or teachers and sponsored by 4-H and other youth servicing organization have popped up in the county over the last several years.
