Applicants must be Kanawha County Schools students and have definable need demonstrated by discrepancy between ability (based on standardized assessments) and achievement (identified by grades, attendance, and behavior by the home school administrators and faculty).
The applicants' home school principal or assistant principal must support the student's enrollment before the student may be considered for placement.

Upon the principal's approval candidates must call 304-766-4145 to schedule a time to submit the above documents for review, and take ACCU-Placer Test (College Placement test). The cost of the ACCU-Placer Test is $25. This purchases two English exams and two math exams. The applicant therefore has two attempts per subject per semester to score a minimum Math score of 60 and a minimum English score of 78.

Placement decision will be made based on the interpretation of ACU-Placer (or ACT) scores, transcripts, discipline issues, and attendance history.
ACCU-Placer scores must reflect the ability of an applicant to qualify for a 100-level English or Math college class with a minimum of 136 composite score.
We will not consider for admission students with a history of violent behavior and criminal convictions within the past two years prior to Collaborative Application as per agreement with WVSU.
