The RHS Show Choir 'Melodic Fusion' is taking pre-sale orders for Christmas Ornaments featuring Riverside's School crest for $12 each. They will be on a Purple Glass Ball and would be a great gift for a student, future student, alumni, or any Riverside Supporter!!

9-14-17 Class of 2018 to vote for Top 5
During Warrior Time Today in the Conference Room, Riverside Seniors will cast their ballots for the top 5 candidates for Homecoming King.
At Riverside, the Senior Class has the privilege of voting in the primary election to narrow down candidates to the top 5 for Homecoming Queen and King. Once the Senior Class has narrowed it down to the top 5, the Entire Student Body will vote in the General Election choose which of the top 5 will be crowned King and Queen.
The General Election, in which all grades vote, will be held on Thursday, September 21st. The location will be announced.
9-13-17 Riverside FBLA Sponsoring a Holiday Drive The Webpage Staff Wants Your Input Do You Know the Words to Your School Song?
The Riverside High School Song is "Fight On!" which was borrowed from the University of Southern California.
The Lyrics were written by 2002 RHS Graduate and Current History Teacher, Mr. Jonathan Veazey.

8-31-17 Make-Up Pictures
Underclassman Make-Up Picture Day is scheduled for October 27th. Pose for a picture on this day if you missed Picture Day on 8-18, or if you were not happy with the picture that was taken on that day.
Make-Up Senior Drape Shots are scheduled for November 15th. Seniors may also schedule an appointment with Prestige to pose for Drape Shots in their Cross Lanes Studio. Any Senior who has not posed for their Drape Shot by Friday, November 17th will not appear in the yearbook.

Yellow Schedule Change Forms are available in the main office. You must complete the form and return it to the office by Friday, August 18th if you would like any class changed in your schedule!
No Schedule Change Requests During Class!
No student is to leave class to go to the counselors office to request a schedule change.
Students should report to the counselors office only if they have an empty period becuase they are missing a class. In this case, the student should report to the counselor during that empty period.

Celebrate spring break with a gaming extravaganza! WV Mobile Gaming will be at Riverside Public Library on Thursday, April 13, at 5:30 pm, with their state of the art gaming theater. Enjoy the latest games on the best gaming systems available!
3-27-17 Warrior Battalion Military Ball
This past weekend the Riverside JROTC program held their annual Cadet Ball. It was a fun night of skits, awards, magic, and dancing. The Ball started out with a special appearance of the former Instructor Major Wadler, who performed several magic tricks that he incorporated into his speech, "Suspension of Disbelief." Following was the award ceremony where all the Seniors and other outstanding Cadets were recognized for their accomplishments and contributions to the program. Each senior received a certificate of completion along with a wooden spartan sword with a plaque on it. Also all the first year Cadets enjoyed a special grog consisting of various juices, such as apple juice, barbeque sauce, ketchup, salt, and Matthew Martin's sock! Afterwards they enjoyed a fun night of dancing, food, and pool! 3-23-17 Bands Joining Together for One Performance Only!
The East Bank and Dupont Middle School Bands will join Riverside on Tuesday, March 28th for a Free Concert in the Riverside High School Auditorium.
The Concert will begin at 6:30 with the East Bank Band Performing First, Dupont Second, and Riverside Last. Each Band will be performing 2-3 Selections that they have prepared for the Annual Band Ratings which will be held at Capital High School on the following Thursday and Friday.
The Riverside Band Boosters will serve a Spaghetti Dinner Prior to the Concert. The dinner will include: Spaghetti, Bread, Salad, Dessert, and a Drink for $10.00.

3-6-17 BrushBot Battles in the Library Today at Warrior Time
In honor of Teen Tech Week, teens are invited to a BrushBot Battle in the Library TODAY!! On Monday at 10:30 (Warrior Time), students will build their own BrushBot (a robot made from a toothbrush head, battery, etc...) and battle it out against other BrushBots in a variety of challenges. Supplies are limited, so registration is encouraged!! See Mrs. Cipriani or one of the public librarians to register!

These studets will spend the next two days preparing for the All-State Concert on Saturday.
2-20-17 Young Dems to Host a Guest Speaker
Profe Denham says of the event,
Rob Byers, Executive Editor of the Charleston Gazette-Mail, will be speaking to students about the importance of a free and independent press. This is an especially important topic given the current climate in regards to the media. ... I believe it will be a very eye opening speech.
This event will be held in Profe's room (B30) on Thursday during Warrior Time. Mr. Byers will begin speaking at 10:50am.
Montclaire String Quartet to Visit RHS
The Montclaire String Quartet will perform for RHS Faculty and Students in the Auditorium on Thursday during the first half of Warrior Time. This performance is free and open to All Riverside Students. Students who participate in Music Classes at Riverside are encouraged to attend!
