Dear Parents/Guardians:

At the start of the school year, our arrival and dismissal procedures were conveyed to everyone.  However, some of these procedures are not being followed as well as they were at the beginning of the year.  I would like to remind everyone of these procedures mainly for the safety of our students.  Please make sure students arrive at school between 8:05 a.m. and 8:35 a.m. every day. All students and adults must enter the building through the main doors or the Kindergarten doors.  Do not use any other entrances into the building; those doors will all be locked.  There is only one line of traffic moving around the parking lot (upper and lower levels) to drop off and pick up children. DO NOT create double lines in the upper and lower lots and expect your child to walk between cars. Never drive through the bus and fire lanes.  Watch your speed in the parking lot.  Sometimes we have found people get frustrated because they have to wait in line to drop off their children and then speed once their child is dropped off.  This is completely unsafe and unacceptable on our school grounds.
Upon entering the building your child will need to go directly to the cafeteria to eat breakfast or to their designated waiting area if they are not eating breakfast. Staff will not be available to supervise your child until 8:05 a.m.; therefore, if your child needs to be dropped off at school BEFORE 8:05 a.m. he/she needs to be enrolled in the ON DECK Program.  ON DECK begins at 7:00 a.m. This will be strictly enforced.
1All students will be dismissed from school at 3:00 p.m. If you arrive early to pick up your child, he/she WILL NOT be permitted to leave the classroom until 3:00 p.m. If you are picking your child up after school, wait outside of the building until 3:00 p.m. When the bell rings at 3:00, the doors will unlock and you may enter the building. DO NOT enter into a classroom to get your child until the bell rings at 3:00 p.m.  When the bell rings, you may pick your child up in his/her classroom.  Students are not permitted to leave the classroom between 2:45 – 3:00 p.m. This is during our afternoon announcement and transportation change time.  If you must check your child out during this time, please supply the office with your appointment card.

When dropping your child off in the morning or picking your child up at the end of the day, you MUST park in a designated parking space.

Please do not pull around the building unless you are parking.  Do not drive cars onto our playground area.  We have been trying to get a fence put up around our playground area to prevent this from happening.  But, until we do, be very cautious around this area.  Students are often playing or working on the playground area.

Finally, as stated in our latest newsletter, car riders, Third Base, walkers, and club participants are dismissed at 3:00 p.m. Bus riders are the only groups that leave between 3:00-3:30 p.m.  If you are picking your child up after school, you are expected to be here at 3:00 p.m. We understand if you need to extend this time to 3:15 p.m. However, if you have to pick your child up later than this, please enroll them in Third Base.  Teachers and staff are permitted to leave the building at 3:30 p.m. and many of them do because of personal and family obligations.
