Sissonville High School 2018 graduate Brady Hanshaw has been selected as one of two 2018 Presidential Scholars from the state of West Virginia. This distinction is bestowed by the United States Department of Education to only two students – one man and one woman – from each state. Students are selected based on their record of leadership and scholarship.
Brady served as senior class president and DECA vice president. He founded the Red Cross Club and received the Elks Award. Brady will attend the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill this Fall with a full academic scholarship to study medicine.
He has been invited to attend the Presidential Scholars National Recognition Program in June in Washington, DC.
