Weimer Elementary's Ms. Ramsey Presented with Teaching Excellence Award

Two local Kanawha County residents (Dana & Earl Hardaker) and their respective businesses have partnered with Kanawha County Schools to honor one KCS teacher and one KCS student each month who have excelled in and out of the classroom. The second KCS Teacher Excellence Award was given to Ms. Sarah Ramsey at Weimer Elementary. Zachary White won the Student Excellence Award.

To be selected, teachers and students must demonstrate excellence in: academic performance or teaching, leadership, community service, creativity and imagination, dedication, and communication. Teachers and students are nominated by teachers at and administrators at the designated school. Schools are selected at random, with one teacher and student from one Kanawha County school being recognized each month.

The following was said about Ms. Ramsey in her nomination form, "...Her room is a safe place if they need an ear to listen. My daughter is on the honor roll for the first time since she started school...she is just a blessing to Weimer students, parents, and staff. We are so very lucky to have Ms. Ramsey not only as a teacher but a life long friend."
