Employee Benefits

Kanawha County Schools provides an extremely competitive benefits package to its benefits-eligible employees. The benefits, programs, and services offered are a sizable amount of an employee’s overall compensation and important factors in encouraging a healthy work-life balance at KCS.

The Benefits Specialist provides detailed information on the benefits plans offered by KCS, allowing employees to select options best suited to their needs and the needs of their covered dependents. The annual period, held in the spring of each year, provides an opportunity for employees to review their benefits and make any necessary changes or adjustments.

Employees are encouraged to take time to periodically review individual benefit selections. Reviewing beneficiary designations on an annual basis, or following a Life/Qualifying Event such as marriage or divorce, is also recommended.
